In the Wake: Ballet Edmonton pops open its new season with a kinetic three-for-one.
Making a work for the company for the first time, veteran choreographer Anne Plamondon’s Feel no More is a poetic physical manifestation of the words “See. Reach. Grab. Tension. Release,” and, “Move. Sweat. Shiver. Cry. Whisper.”
Meanwhile, Vancouver’s emergent Anya Allegra Saugstad’s world premiere of Beautiful Beasts builds “vigorous, collaborative and physical choreography,” leaning into both dance and theatre — with sound design by Stefan Nazarevich.
Finally, Ballet Edmonton’s artistic director Kirsten Wicklund premieres Meteorite, a duet work inspired by the virtuosity of the classical form.

Cloth & Conscience: Transforming Clothes Into Voices of Change: Shining a light on pressing global issues — take your pick, there’s a truckload — this multimedia show is the culmination of Jamaican Edmontonian Garfield Morgan’s 2023-24 artist-in-residence stint at Harcourt House.
“In leveraging these second-hand clothes,” reads the statement, “Garfield invites us to view clothing not merely as a utility but as a powerful testimony to human struggle and resilience.
“The pieces challenge societal norms and illuminate the often-unseen suffering stitched into the very fabric of our everyday apparel.”
Erika Germain’s highly object-interactive The Names of Loved Ones is also up in the Incubator Gallery, both shows opening 7 p.m. Friday.
